Simple care for reclaimed timber and metal lighting, alongside the instructions supplied with your finished piece.

Before cleaning

Switch off, disconnect the lamp where possible and allow it to cool. For fixed lighting, follow the supplied instructions and seek qualified help if you are unsure how to isolate it safely.

Timber and metal

Use a soft, dry cloth for routine dusting. Keep liquids away from electrical parts. Avoid abrasives, soaking and unapproved oils or cleaning chemicals; ask about a suitable treatment for your specific finish before applying anything.

Positioning

Place table lamps on a stable surface and protect the cable from trapping or strain. Keep exposed bulbs clear of fabrics and other objects, following the supplied clearances. Do not assume a lamp is suitable for outdoor, bathroom or damp-area use.

Bulbs and repairs

Use only the bulb type and rating specified for the finished fitting. E27 describes the cap type, not the maximum permitted wattage. If a cable, holder or fitting is damaged, stop using it and contact us; do not carry out improvised repairs.
